We're starting to think about a successor to
AMC13
for ATCA.
There have been some complaints about the place-holder name "Blade13".
PLEASE SUGGEST new names on this convenient TWiki page:

Here are some random rumors about ATCA:
- A typically-equipped ATCA crate with shelf manager, power supplies and cooling suitable for a test stand is US$10k (but one may also need an Ethernet switch module for another $8k or so)
- Power per slot can range up to 500W (!)
- An ATCA carrier can host four single-width AMC cards, but leaves very little board space for anything else
- ATLAS is using ATCA for part of the FTK. A quick scan of their TDR did not reveal anything about clock/control/timing distribution.
Here is the obligatory set of "useful links":
- PICMG document "Physics Design Guide
for Clocks, Gates and Triggers in Instrumentation"
- ATCA at Fermilab
- CERN RD-51 WG5 has an SRS system which looks quite interesting
- AXIe
standard has some interesting ideas (star clock, controls)
- ATCA-9112
40GbE switch module
